What is Forum Theatre?

• Flexible, tailored group learning that is inter-active, stimulating and fun.
• An inter-active session, allowing participants to observe events and influence their outcome.

How does it work?

• Tailored scenarios are devised around your organisation's culture and specific situations
• Participants watch actors perform a scenario highlighting relevant workplace, skills or interpersonal issues.
• The scenario is re-run but this time delegates can pause the action and offer suggestions to the characters as to what to do.
• Delegates engage in facilitated discussion about what they have seen; what was working? - What wasn't?
• Delegates have the opportunity to question characters about their behaviour, situation and motivations.
• The actors follow the delegates direction (often literally!)
• The delegates as a group steer the action by means of intervention and direction to a more satisfactory conclusion

What's Forum Theatre ideal for:

• Working with larger groups in plenary.
• Looking at contentious or difficult situations in a non-threatening way.
• Exploring complex scenarios involving more than two people.
• Demonstrating effective or non-effective business communication and interpersonal skills.
• Drawing parallels with your own organisations issues through analogy.
• Generating debate amongst delegates about the issues raised.
